Shree Datta Polytechnic College, Shirol was established in 2010 and Department of civil Engineering is part of the institute since its initiation. Now it is Appasaheb Alias Sa. Re. Patil Institute Of Tecchnology, Shirol.Civil engineering is mother branch of engineering which provides one of the basic need of human being as a shelter. Civil engineering includes study of buildings, roads, railway, dams, bridges, water distribution systems, sewerage systems, airports, harbours. Civil engineering students learn to identify civil engineering problems, learn various methods of possible solutions, and managing & executing a suitable solution.
The civil department is well equipped with laboratories such as Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Material, Geotechnical Engg., Hydraulics, Surveying, Environmental Engineering and Concrete Technology. All faculty members are highly educated and having huge experience in teaching as well as industry. Department has its own library facility with variety of reference books, international journals and digital CD’s. The department has excellent track record in academics. All faculty members and students are encouraged to participate in different seminars, conferences, workshops, model making and Project Competition. Department has a MOU’s with different industries such as Kadson Engineers and Contractors, Kolhapur, Balguragi Builders and Developers, Sangli etc. which helps the students to upgrade their knowledge. Most of the alumni set their own business in civil field.
